Firefox Racing Skin for Papyrus NASCAR Video Games

The response to my design for a Firefox Racing Sponsored NASCAR Chevy has been exciting, this only in the first few days! Already it made the blog at SpreadFirefox.com and was raved about by Paul Kim, Global Marketing Director for Mozilla, saying it "blew me away"!

Firefox Racing: The Story

I created this skin for use in Papyrus' NASCAR Racing 2002 Season PC video game. Yes, it is an older game, but according to the worldwide community of sim-racing enthusiasts, it is the best racing video game available today.

To create the Firefox Racing car I opted for a completely custom design using Photoshop and Illustrator starting from a blank Monte Carlo car template. Using Mozilla branding artwork found throughout the web, and by developing some of my own graphics (note the rear fenders), I assembled, tweaked and tested towards the current design you see now.

There is a NASCAR Racing 2003 Season game which was the last from developer Papyrus before losing NASCAR licensing rights to EA Sports. This game is a highly sought after collectible fetching well above $100, while the 2002 Season game can be found for about $10-$50. Though I haven't tested it, I have been told that the Firefox Racing skin can be easily imported into NASCAR 2003 Season!
